Presentation Coaching for Scientists

Presenting a talk or poster is your chance to promote your science to the broader community. Yet many scientists feel intimidated by public speaking. I can help you translate complex experimental data into clear, compelling slide decks or poster panels, give you strategies to reduce stress, and boost your confidence going into the event.

  • Graduate students: Learn how to tailor your talk to different audiences, avoid imposter syndrome, speak with confidence, and prepare for your thesis defense.
  • Postdocs: Practice job talks and conference presentations.
  • Faculty and senior researchers: Refine your speaking skills to effectively sell your science.

Example services

  • Slide deck and poster critiques: I provide detailed feedback on your slides or poster, checking for visual appeal and clarity of data presentation.
  • Live rehearsal sessions: Practice your talk with me on a video call, and I provide feedback on delivery, pacing, narrative, clarity, etc.
  • Defense and chalk talk preparation: I provide critical feedback on your proposal and brainstorm with you to anticipate committee questions, so you go in with more confidence and less stress.
  • Know your audience: I help you tailor your talk to your specific audience, whether you’re presenting for colleagues, scientists outside your field, or the general public.

How it works
